I graduated from Rochester College in Michigan with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, minoring in English. I am continuing my education by going to Virginia State University for a master's degree in Dietetics. I have been exposed to a vast array of topics and subjects during my education. This has also carried over into my tutoring. While at Rochester College, I tutored individuals in Math, Statistics, and Writing. I also helped individuals of all age groups with phonics, prepping for tests, math, and reading comprehension at a local center for learning. After moving to Virginia, I began tutoring individuals in standardized test preparation, reading, and writing. I like working with any age group. For instance, I like having a well-informed discussion about a paper a high school student is researching as well as talking with a young child, helping them learn under a blanket made into a fort. I believe, no matter what age an individual is, that independence is the goal in tutoring and that learning should be fun and enjoyable. These two things I share with every individual I tutor. By doing this, the individuals get excited to see me and they can confidently know the information because I helped them to do it on their own. In my spare time, I like boating, gardening, camping, hiking, and anything outdoors. If I am not outdoors, then you will find me in the kitchen whipping something new up that has caught my eye that day. I enjoy meeting people and trying different things. I am happy to meet you!
